Britain signed Monday a digital trade agreement with Ukraine, aiming to support the country’s economy and greatly enhance the UK-Ukraine trade and investment relationship.

This came during an economic conference attended by a number of ministers and more than 200 British, Ukrainian and European businesspersons.

The agreement was signed on the British side by Minister of Business and Trade, Kemi Badenoch and on the Ukrainian side, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Yulia Sviridenko.

“The historic digital trade deal signed today paves the way for a new era of modern trade between our two countries,” said Badenoch.

The British minister also noted that the agreement will enable Ukraine to benefit from the financial services provided by the London financial market, which will be extremely important for financing reconstruction operations in the future by facilitating cross-border online transactions.
