Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos held a meeting on Thursday with French Ambassador Salina Grenet-Catalano with whom he discussed bilateral relations and ways to further enhance cooperation in the economic sector. According to a press release, during the meeting, which took place in the Ministry, the Ambassador of France congratulated the Minister on assuming his duties and assured him of the continuation of the good cooperation between Cyprus and France. The Minister of Finance referred to the very good relations between France and Cyprus and the need to continuously strengthen them. He also praised the important role of France both in the EU and in shaping international geopolitical developments. During the meeting, they exchanged views on bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen them in the field of economic cooperation. In addition, they discussed about the EU economic environment and the challenges that the member states have to face. The Minister briefed the Ambassador on the state of the Cypriot economy and emphasized the commitment of the new Government to implement an economic policy within the framework of strict fiscal discipline and financial stability, the press release says.
