The Ministry of Water and Irrigation announced on Sunday that precipitation levels have surged to 97.1 percent of Jordan’s long-term average of 8.1 billion cubic meters since the start of the wet season, amounting to 122.2 percent of the total rainfall recorded in 2022. The highest rainfall of 34.3 millimeters was recorded in Tafileh in the last 24 hours, it added. A total of 750,000 cubic meters were channeled into dams, upping their storage to 120.5 million cubic meters, or 43 of their total capacity of 280.759 million cubic meters.
