Kuwait won the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship Division IV’s bronze, while the Philippines snatched the title of the tournament, which ended in Mongolia Sunday.

Speaking to KUNA over the phone, Fehaid Al-Ajmi, head of Kuwait Winter Games Club, said this is the first achievement made by Kuwait’s players on the global level of the sport.

He stressed the Club’s keenness on helping its players partake in continental and global championships to upgrade their levels, and ensure Kuwait’s presence in such major tournaments.

Al-Ajmi extolled support of Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdurrahman Al-Mutairi to the Club, which contributed to the positive result.
