Kamal Jumblatt said it in the sixties of the last century, and consolidated it in an integrated reform program for the national movement…The disagreement over timing, following the dispute over powers, the dispute over interpretation of the constitution, the dispute over the charter and other repercussions of the sectarian system, all confirm that there is no alternative to the secular state in Lebanon, so that we can embark on modernity!”
