Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and Omani counterpart Bader Al-Busaidi Wednesday agreed on the necessity of furthering efforts to reach a ceasefire in Sudan, protecting the lives of the people and their property.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that this came during a phone call between the two, where they also talked of working on achieving the outcomes and recommendations of the Arab bloc’s latest urgent meeting.

Minister Shukri briefed his counterpart on Egypt’s efforts in containing the crisis, and its communication with active regional and international parties to present a united front.

The two agreed on continuing negotiations and coordination during the upcoming days.
