Washington, D.C. – The capital of the United States saw an immense gathering of demonstrators who marched in solidarity with the Palestinian people, demanding an immediate halt to the violence in Gaza.

According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA, On November 4, 2023, as reported by WAFA, the “National March on Washington for Free Palestine” attracted tens of thousands of participants from across the country to Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C. The assembly extended beyond the designated area, indicating one of the largest demonstrations in support of Palestine to date. Protesters advocated for the cessation of Israeli military operations and appealed for an end to military aid provided to Israel by the US and other Western countries.

Brian Becker, director of the Answer coalition, addressed the massive crowd, remarking on the shift in public opinion in the United States towards the Palestinian cause, drawing comparisons to the transformative anti-apartheid movements against South Africa. He emphasized the impact of grassroots movements over governmental actions in effecting change.

According to Becker, the demonstrators aim to send a decisive message to President Joe Biden, condemning the ongoing violence and holding those who support it responsible for acts of genocide, as defined by the intentional destruction of a people.
