SHARJAH: Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Qasimia University and Univesity’s President, led the eleventh regular meeting of the University’s Board of Trustees.

The gathering took place at the university’s Sharjah headquarters, where Al-Tarifi extended a warm welcome to the council members in his opening address.

In his welcoming speech, Al-Tarifi underscored the pivotal role played by the University’s Board of Trustees in continually supporting the educational journey of Al Qasimia University and realising its academic vision. This vision, inspired by the ideals of its founder, H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aims to establish the university as a beacon of excellence in higher education and scientific research, with the Quran and the Arabic language as its foundational pillars.

Expressing gratitude, Al-Tarifi, in his dual role as President of the Board of Trustees and the University President, thanked His Highness She
ikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi for his unwavering and extensive support for the university from its inception. This ongoing support aims to elevate the university’s global standing and enhance the quality of academic services offered to attract students worldwide and advance its programmes.

The Board endorsed the graduation of the sixth group of students from Al Qasimia University who successfully completed the graduation requirements across various undergraduate programmes in the university’s five colleges, totaling 122 graduates, both male and female.

The number of nationalities represented among the registered students at Al Qasimia University has reached 120.

Dr. Awad Al-Khalaf, the University’s Director, provided an overview of the annual plan for the academic year 2023/2024 and presented detailed reports on the university’s accomplishments during the fall semester of the current academic year, as well as the academic year 2022/2023.

He also elucidated that the count of accredited academic pro
grammes at the university has reached eight at the undergraduate level, discussing several initiatives and activities aimed at enhancing education quality and contributing to the development of the university’s infrastructure.

The Board deliberated on various topics related to the enhancement of different educational, academic, and administrative aspects.
