DUBAI: Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, stressed the importance of utilising technology across governments.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during Day 2 of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024, President Mnangagwa said, ‘Well, we have no choice but to embrace technology. This is the way forward for every single country, and Zimbabwe cannot be an exception. We have to embrace technology and the modern way of communication, the modern way of doing things. Technology is moving and you cannot remain behind. You have to embrace it.’

He explained that WGS is an opportunity where various governments can meet and attempt to evaluate governance structures in their countries to foster higher levels of modern, progressive governance.

The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe also described the relations between his country and the UAE as ‘excellent’, noting their keenness to make them more comprehensive.
