DUBAI: Heike Harmgart, Managing Director for the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean (SEMED) region at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), affirmed the positive growth prospects for the UAE economy despite global challenges.
In an interview with Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit (WWGS) 2024 in Dubai, Harmgart said that the UAE has excellent growth prospects due to its strategic location and its focus on technological advancement.
She added that the Middle East region is rich in medium-term opportunities, particularly in areas such as green hydrogen and other fields, for regional integration and the export of renewable energy from these countries.
Asked about her participation in the WGS, Harmgart expressed the EBRD’s pride in participating in the summit, describing it as an important event that brings together not only governments, but also development partners in the private sector.
