VEINNA: Austria announced the deployment of its 50th Contingent of Austrian troops to the Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission, continuing its long-standing commitment to peace and security in Kosovo.

In a statement, Austrian Defence Minister Klaudia Tanner emphasised the importance of international peacekeeping operations for Austria. ‘Our contribution in Kosovo shows that we are a reliable partner in international crisis management measures,’ she said.

Austria has been involved in the NATO-led KFOR peacekeeping mission since 1999, to ensure security, maintain public order and reconstruction.
