RABWEH: Civil Defense teams in Lebanon, with the support of the Lebanese Army Air Force, are engaged in a protracted battle to control wildfires that have been raging for three days across the forests of Rabweh, Beit Misk, and Nabeh. The concerted firefighting efforts are being overseen by Director General Brigadier Raymond Khattar, with continuous monitoring by Acting Interior Minister Judge Bassam Mawlawi, as teams strive to prevent the fires from advancing towards residential zones. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the firefighting operations are bolstered by four helicopters from the Lebanese Army Air Force. Despite facing challenging conditions, such as strong winds and rugged terrain, mobile command units have been stationed to enhance coordination. The firefighting units are also receiving logistical support from neighboring municipalities, which are providing water tankers to ensure a steady supply for firefighting vehicles. Additionally, efforts are underway to secure helicopter assista nce from Cyprus, aiming to expedite the containment of the fires. The ongoing operations highlight the urgency and scale of the response required to manage the wildfires threatening the region.
