Ajman Chamber Engages in Arab German Health Forum to Boost Healthcare Cooperation

Berlin: Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber, attended the 16th Arab German Health Forum in Berlin, representing the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) in the UAE. The forum focused on enhancing partnerships between the UAE, Arab countries, and Germany in the healthcare sector, discussing mechanisms for cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in medical tourism and healthcare development. According to Emirates News Agency, the forum attracted significant participation from decision-makers, healthcare professionals, investors, and business owners. Discussions covered a broad range of topics, including the future of the healthcare industry, developments in pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals, the impact of innovation and artificial intelligence on healthcare, sustainable healthcare systems, and healthcare governance. Al Muwaiji highlighted the forum's role as a platform for fostering healthcare cooperation between Arab nations and Germany, particula rly given the 20 percent rise in Arab-German trade, which reached EUR 62.1 billion in 2023. The UAE and Saudi Arabia have been leading in trade volume with Germany among Arab countries. The Chairman emphasized the UAE's commitment to advancing its healthcare system and promoting direct investments in the pharmaceutical sector. He pointed out the UAE's growing appeal as a destination for healthcare investment due to the diversity of opportunities, including pharmaceutical expansion, the localization of industries for self-sufficiency, and its prominence as a medical tourism hub. This is attributed to its strategic location, affordable care, and advancements in medical innovation, including robotics and AI. Al Muwaiji underscored the Ajman Government's dedication to the healthcare sector, aligned with the directives of Ajman's leadership. The emirate boasts a robust healthcare infrastructure with leading hospitals, facilities, and medical universities, aiming to attract investments in the medical and tourism sectors. He noted the healthcare sector's significant contribution to Germany's GDP, at 12 percent, driven by developments in medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. Al Muwaiji praised the UAE's efforts to enhance healthcare performance and infrastructure, which not only improve quality of life and economic growth but also create jobs, boost productivity, and reduce long-term care costs. During the forum, Al Muwaiji engaged with international officials and investors, discussing ways to strengthen trade relations and explore cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals. He presented investment opportunities in the UAE and Ajman, showcasing facilities for investors and exchanging expertise on cutting-edge healthcare technologies.
