RABAT: Abdul Latif Al-Mirawi, Morocco's Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, has praised the Khalifa Award for Education for its significant role in advancing educational standards locally, regionally, and globally. The Minister highlighted the strong cooperation between educational institutions in the UAE and Morocco, which underscores the long-standing and prosperous relations between the two nations. According to Emirates News Agency, Minister Al-Mirawi's comments came during a reception for a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award at his office in Rabat. The delegation included prominent figures such as Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, a member of the Award's Board of Trustees, and Amal Al Afeefi, the Secretary-General of the Award, among others. During the meeting, Al Dhaheri emphasized the Award's impact since its inception in 2007, noting its role in fostering a culture of excellence within the educational sector in the UAE, the Arab world, and beyond. The Award has been instrumental in recognizing the outstanding contributions of educators and educational initiatives. Al-Afeefi acknowledged Morocco's active participation and achievements in previous editions of the Award and expressed gratitude for Minister Al-Mirawi's support in promoting the Award and enhancing awareness for the upcoming 18th session in 2024-2025. She highlighted the Award's appreciation for the efforts of teachers, university professors, and community organizations. Dr. Suad Al Suwaidi presented the current session's fields, emphasizing the Higher Education category, which honors significant contributions by university professors, academics, and researchers. Other categories include Educational Research, Educational Authorship for Children, and Innovative Educational Projects and Programmes. Dr. Khalid Al Abri underscored the diverse categories the Award offers, inviting educators, administrators, and researchers to participate and exhibit their innovative initiatives that could serve as models in the educational field. Hamid Ibrahim pointed out the Award's emphasis on integrating advanced technology and artificial intelligence in education. He noted the role of AI in evaluating candidates' projects and encouraged participants to leverage innovative technologies to meet the evolving needs of the education sector. The meeting concluded with the delegation presenting the Award shield to Minister Al-Mirawi in recognition of his support and contributions to the Award's mission.
