Dubai Chamber and Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority Host Webinar on Parent-friendly Label Programme

Dubai: Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under Dubai Chambers, has organised a webinar in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority to raise awareness about the Parent-friendly Label programme among the private sector. The virtual session attracted 121 representatives from 80 companies and highlighted the programme's participation pathways and key benefits for companies.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family and Director-General of Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, emphasised the role of private sector organisations as key enablers of the national economy. She noted that successful investment is not solely measured by financial performance but also by an organisation's ability to empower its teams and enable a balance between work and family responsibilities. The programme aims to promote the values of the Year of Family by empowering working parents, which in turn enhances professional success and organisational productivity.

The programme's positive impact is evident in increased productivity among working parent employees, stronger team loyalty, and an enhanced employer reputation. Suhail praised Dubai Chambers for their efforts in raising awareness about the programme's objectives and encouraging private sector participation to develop parent-friendly workplaces, benefiting children, parents, and society alike.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the advantages of family-friendly workplaces in attracting and retaining talent, while supporting sustainable performance. He reiterated their commitment to promoting institutional best practices that positively impact employees and society.

The webinar reviewed the programme's progress since its 2021 launch, showcasing increased participation from organisations implementing extended parental leave, flexible work arrangements, childcare support, and employee wellbeing initiatives. These measures have led to improved employee satisfaction, loyalty, and productivity.

Furthermore, the session introduced the fourth cycle of the Parent-friendly Label programme, open for applications until 31st July 2026. The latest cycle expands eligibility across more sectors and updates criteria to enhance inclusivity and responsiveness to parents' needs. It also encourages multinational companies to extend parent-friendly policies across their global offices, focusing on flexible work arrangements, childcare benefits, and family support initiatives.
