Istanbul, An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale hit today, Tuesday evening, the state of Kayseri, in central Turkey.

The Turkish Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) said in a statement posted on its website that an earthquake hit the state of Kayseri at 6:16 pm today local time and it was at a depth of 7 kilometers.
