Tartous, SANA- On the occasion of Russia’s Navy Day , the command of the Russian forces operating in Syria held an official celebration in Tartous city.
The ceremony was attended from the Syrian side by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Minister of Defense General Ali Abbas, a number of senior officers of the General Command of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces, the Governor of Tartous and a popular crowd.
On the Russian side, leaders and senior officers of the Russian forces operating in Syria and the Russian Ambassador in Damascus and a crowd of the Russian community in Syria attended the event.
The celebration included a parade of the participating Syrian and Russian naval units and congratulations to the Russian sailors, in addition to a naval show imitating a real combat operation, in which the missile cruiser Marshall Ustinov, the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Kulakov, the Admiral Grigorovich frigate, the Admiral Kasatonov frigate, some submarines of the Russian Navy and various types of combat aircraft and warplanes participated along with some Syrian naval forces.
At the end of the celebration, Syrian and Russian helicopters implemented an air show carrying the flags of the two friendly countries.
