Tehran-SANA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed with Ayman Susan, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, latest developments in the region, bilateral relations, and ways to develop them in various fields.

During their meeting in Tehran on Monday, the two sides stressed the depth of the strategic relations binding the two countries, and the need to strengthen them to overcome challenges facing the two countries, including the blockade and unjust sanctions imposed on them, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples.

Susan expressed Syria’s appreciation for the support provided by Iran, reiterating Syria’s standing by Tehran in the face of the renewed Western campaign against it, and expressing Syria’s full confidence in Iran’s victory.

In turn, Minister Abdollahian affirmed his country’s continuous support for Syria, explaining that the two countries stand in one trench in the face of Western plans and foreign intervention attempts in the region.

It was agreed to continue communication and coordination between the two sides, in a way that serves common goals and achieves the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

Various issues of common concern were also touched upon by Susan and Ali Asghar Khaji, senior advisor to the Iranian foreign minister on special political affairs.
