Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the City Planning Sector – Environment, Health, and Safety Department, held a workshop called “Safety in the Heat – Lessons Learned” via the TIMES system.

This workshop aimed to evaluate the positive outcomes and experiences derived from implementing the summer midday work ban at construction sites over a three-month period.

The workshop gathered several representatives from the building and construction sector in Abu Dhabi to gauge the benefits of the midday work ban, particularly concerning the preservation of individual health and safety for those working outdoors under the sun, and productivity on construction sites.

The workshop comprised several discussions to educate workers in the building and construction sector about the requirements and advantages of heat safety.

Additionally, a lecture was given on the lessons learned from the implementation of the midday work ban, which forbids outdoor work under the sun from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm for three months (from June 15 to September 15). Best practices applied by construction sector companies during this summer were also showcased.
