DUBAI: Maria Susana Muhamad, Colombian Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development, emphasised that the Global Climate Fund (Loss and Damage Fund) was among the desired goals, stressing her satisfaction with the results achieved in this regard.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), on the sidelines of the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), which saw the issuance of ‘The UAE Consensus’, she indicated that the activation of the Fund during the first day of the conference was a major milestone.

The Colombian Minister praised the excellence in organising the Conference, and the role played by the UAE in this regard.

The Minister said that the agreement announced at the conclusion of the conference is a step forward by outlining clear procedures to drive the energy transition.
