Badr Al Shihhi, Director of the Communication and Community Engagement Division at ADAFSA, said that humanitarian and charitable work is one of the fundamental principles of the United Arab Emirates and the great legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

He added that celebrating Zayed Humanitarian Day is a remembrance of the founding leader and a celebration of his good influence, noble values and achievements at the local and global levels.

Al Shehhi pointed out that ADAFSA chose Zayed Humanitarian Day to honour the pioneers of goodness who have contributed to its efforts in charitable and humanitarian work by supporting the initiatives it has launched through the “Auwn” Community Engagement Programme. He went on to explain that the
‘Auwn’ initiative is one of ADAFSA’s key initiatives, which was established to strengthen its commitment to the local community. The programme is in line with the Abu Dhabi government’s vision to emphasise the principles of solidarity and unity that exist within the UAE community.
