AJMAN, The Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition concluded after a successful organisation by The Ajman Department of Tourism Development and the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (EBBF).
More than 200 athletes from different nationalities participated in the competition that took place at the Ajman Cultural Centre and offered a prize pool of AED62,000 for the winners.
This year’s participants in the Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition competed in 46 categories divided between juniors, men, professional physique, and bodybuilding, where 15 winners of the junior categories were awarded Elite Pro Cards to participate in the world professional competition organized by the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.
The Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition is the first international competition in the UAE to include all main categories for juniors which are the Bodybuilding, Classic Bodybuilding, Physique, Classic Physique, Muscular Physique, and Body Style, in addition to an IFBB Elite Pro category for professionals.
The Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation; Mahmood Khaleel Al Hashmi, Director-General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development; Dr. Rafael Santonja, President of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation; Dr. Adel Fahim, First Vice President of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, President of the Arab and African Bodybuilding Federations; Presidents of several Arab and International federations, in addition to a number of officials and athletes.
l Hashmi stated that the great success this competition has achieved reflects Ajman’s vision and the directives and continuous support of its wise leadership which have jointly transformed the emirate into a leader in the organisation of international sports events.
“The Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition is both a touristic and sporting ceremony, as it has greatly contributed to highlighting Ajman as a popular hub for hosting local and international events, which falls in line with the UAE’s leading position in the world”, he added.
l Hashmi stressed that the Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition has offered an exceptional 3rd edition according to the highest international standards, and this is a result of the department’s confidence in the importance of organising sporting events that witness a wide popularity in its yearly agenda, and for offering a gateway for amateur athletes to qualify to international professional competition, in addition to offering a diverse sporting environment in Ajman.
The Ajman International Bodybuilding Competition was held in collaboration with the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (EBBF), the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB), the Saudi German Hospital as Gold Sponsor, Gulfa Water as Hydration Sponsor, the Ajman Sewerage, Zayona Group, Jan Tana, Oxy Nutrition, Bo Saif Studio, Dynamic Sound and Light, and the Encyclopaedia of the History of Bodybuilding.
