Al-Jaafari: Iran is a strategic partner to Syria

 

Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus celebrated on Saturday the 43rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution at Sheraton Hotel.

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Bashar al-Jaafari, congratulated the Iranian leadership and people upon their blessed revolution ,saying “this revolution is consistent with Syria’s principles and with the values it believes in”.

Al-Jaafari added that Syria was one of the first countries that announced its support for this revolution, considering it a support to regional states , not a danger.

He underlined that incidents that target the whole region proved the correct stances of the founders of the Syrian-Iranian relations.

“ Syria considers Iran as a strategic partner and appreciates its responsible role inside the international community as a state respects the international law, pluralism and the UN charter and contributes to facing the imperial powers and their acts”, Al-Jaafari went on to say.

He stressed that Syria is ready to continue the joint work for enhancing and deepening the cooperation and expertise in all domains.

In turn, Iranian Ambassador in Damascus, Mehdi Sobhani, clarified that the inevitable support for the Resistance

axis and the Palestinian cause ,along with developing the cooperation with the friendly countries, mainly Syria, are of the priorities of Iran’s foreign policy ,highlighting that the political will in the two counties is to deepen bilateral cooperation in all fields.

Sobhani added that his country backs Syria’s sovereignty and condemns the illegitimate existence of the foreign members on its territories ,asserting the importance of regaining every inch of them to the Syrian sovereignty.
