Baghdad Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani affirmed that the pharmaceutical industry represents one of the most important supports of the government in its program of economic reform and the development of various sectors.
Al-Sudani said during his presidency of the second meeting of the Association of Drug Producers in Iraq, in the presence of the Ministers of Health and Industry and Minerals, and a number of Directors General in the two Ministries that the localization of pharmaceutical industries was not a slogan but a goal, and you translated it into real procedures and recommendations after a series of meetings.
He continued: As for producers in the government sector and the private sector, the government and its relevant ministries have fulfilled their obligations, and we await implementation.
He added that the pharmaceutical industry is capable of providing new job opportunities that we desperately need at this time.
He said that all producers in the government or private sectors should take the initiative to invest in this important stage for the government to adopt the principle of localizing the pharmaceutical industry.
He continued: We are ready for any support, whether at the level of procedures that you need in the future, or in terms of granting loans or any other facilities, stressing that this is a golden opportunity to put the pharmaceutical industry in its rightful place in Iraq.
Al-Sudani said: Today we are facing an important event in the field of the pharmaceutical industry, and we must invest in this aspect to have a pharmaceutical industry that is produced inside Iraq.
