Baghdad The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, directed the formation of a committee to investigate the death of a detainee pending investigation in Babylon.

Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool Abdullah, said in a statement today, “After the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces were briefed on the appeal of the deceased’s brother (Pontal Nasser Shelaiwesh) on Al-Watan satellite channel during his detention pending investigation, he directed the formation of a committee an investigation headed by the Human Rights Advisor and the membership of a number of senior officers from the Ministry of Interior and the National Security Agency to investigate the circumstances of the death that occurred on March 7, and the investigation committee left for the province of Babylon to start its work, provided that it completes the course of the investigation within 72 hours.

Rasool confirmed that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces will follow up the course of the investigation to find out the circumstances of this accident and find out the real causes of death.
