Algeria wildfires kill 15

Fifteen people died, and 26 others were injured Monday in a series of fires in several provinces in Algeria, according to the Algerian News Agency. The Interior Ministry in Algiers announced that it had recorded 97 fires in forests and crops in 16 states, noting that 7,500 firefighting teams are deployed. Algeria is witnessing a strong heat wave; the temperature reached 48 degrees, which caused fires, forcing the authorities to start evacuation campaigns.
