Dr. Muhannad Mubaidin, Minister of Government Communications and the official government spokesperson, reaffirmed Jordan’s ongoing commitment to providing humanitarian and relief aid to the people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, in line with Royal directives.

According to Jordan News Agency, Mubaidin stated that the value of aid dispatched to Gaza has exceeded JD20 million, including medicines and grains for families in the West Bank. Jordan has also dispatched four relief planes to Gaza and allocated JD3 million to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). He emphasized Jordan’s unity and support for King Abdullah II’s call for international mobilization to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, prevent displacement, and ensure sustainable access to humanitarian aid. Addressing recent arrests, Mubaidin highlighted the government’s role in protecting freedom of expression within the bounds of the law. He noted that about a million Jordanians have expressed their solidarity with Gaza through lawful protests and vigils, demonstrating a high level of patriotism while respecting law and property. He clarified that the 25 people detained by security departments were apprehended for legal violations, including attacking public security personnel and trespassing on public and private properties. He added that recent arrests involved a limited number of individuals whose plans had implications for national security. Investigations are ongoing with detainees who were not part of the organized solidarity activities and sit-ins.
