Amman: King Abdullah and UN Chief Discuss Gaza Ceasefire and Aid

Amman – His Majesty King Abdullah, in a significant phone conversation with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and a humanitarian truce.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussion on Wednesday focused on the critical situation in Gaza and the vital role of the international community in addressing it.

The King and the UN Secretary-General agreed on the necessity for the international community to actively support the uninterrupted delivery of essential supplies such as food, medicine, water, and fuel to Gaza. King Abdullah underscored the crucial role of the UN and its agencies in delivering relief services in the region, stressing the importance of continued support for these organizations and facilitating their operations. His Majesty reaffirmed that a political resolution, specifically a two-state solution, is the sole viable approach to conclusively resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and emphasized that military and security measures alone cannot achieve lasting peace.
