RIYADH: The Arab Islamic Summit, held in Riyadh, has issued a call to end the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip and to allow immediate humanitarian aid into the area. The summit’s participants have also urged the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate Israel’s actions in Gaza.
According to Jordan News Agency, The summit’s final statement, released on Saturday, strongly condemned the Israeli offensive in Gaza, labeling the actions as “war crimes” and “barbaric, brutal, and inhumane massacres” against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank. The statement rejected any characterization of the Israeli offensive as self-defense and condemned attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem. It emphasized the importance of respecting the legal and historical status of these holy sites, stating that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is solely a place of worship for Muslims and that the Jordanian Department of Jerusalem Endowments and Affairs of the Al-Aqsa Mosque holds jurisdiction over it.
