Cairo, March 10, 2023, SPA — The Cairo-based Arab Parliament (AP) is set to take part in the 146th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and other relevant meetings scheduled for the Kingdom of Bahrain from 11 – 15 March 2023, it was reported today.

To highlight the event, Adel Abdulrahman Al Asoomi, Speaker of AP, said that convening the meetings of IPU in Bahrain comes within the continuing great support provided by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the parliamentary diplomacy at all its national, regional and international levels.

Al Asoomi also lauded the great efforts exerted by the two chambers of the Bahrain National Assembly to enable these meetings to occur and that match the prestigious international status of Bahrain.

The meetings of IPU are the largest parliamentary gathering which usually witnesses the participation of speakers and senior representatives of parliaments and legislative assemblies from different parts of the world.
