Arab Parliament has welcomed an agreement between Yemeni parties to extend the truce for two more months.

The Arab Parliament affirmed, in a statement today, that the agreement will contribute to advancing efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement of the Yemeni crisis, and supports initiatives for a political solution, based on the relevant Security Council resolutions, the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanisms and the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue, in a manner that preserves Yemen’s unity and independence and preserves the capabilities of the Yemeni people and their aspirations for security, stability and prosperity.

The Arab Parliament valued the efforts of the Arab coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all parties in extending the truce, to preserve the security and stability of the region.
