Madrid, SANA- The issue of humanitarian aid and delivering it to all the quake-affected people in Syria shouldn’t be politicized, Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch in Spain, His Eminence Mor Nicholaus Matta Abdulahad said.

Presiding over a mass on Sunday at the Church of the Virgin Mary in the Spanish capital, Madrid, for the comfort of the souls of the earthquake victims in Syria, Abdulahad called for love, unity and cooperation among all to face this ordeal and its repercussions.

The Archbishop appealed to everyone to provide assistance to all those affected by this disaster and not to politicize the issue of humanitarian aid needed by the people in the quake-hit areas in Syria.

He noted that the Syriac Church in Spain, in cooperation with several churches, is in direct coordination with the Syrian Embassy in Madrid and Spanish civil institutions and organizations in order to mobilize and send aid and material and financial donations to Syria.

Abdulahad asked God Almighty to engulf the spirit of the victims with mercy, offering condolences to their families and their families, and wishing a speedy recovery to all the wounded and injured.
