ASTANA, At least 11 people have died in a mine fire in Kazakhstan, Karaganda regional Governor Yermaganbet Bulekpayev wrote on Facebook on Saturday.

According to local authorities, a fire broke out in the Kostenko mine, killing 11 and injuring18 others.

According to Kazinform News Agency, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his condolences to the family members and close ones of the killed miners.

A criminal investigation into the accident has been launched, Kazinform reported
