Manama, Mar. 10 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has welcomed the joint statement issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, mediated by the People’s Republic of China, to resume diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s appreciation for the initiative of the People’s Republic of China to host and sponsor the Saudi-Iranian talks, complementing the Iraqi and Omani diplomatic efforts.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry expressed hope that this agreement would constitute a positive step on the road to resolving differences and ending all regional conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic means, as well as establishing international relations on the basis of mutual understanding, respect and good neighbourliness, in addition to non-interference in the affairs of other countries, adherence to the charters of the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and international laws and norms.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry praised in this regard the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting security, peace and stability, as well as in pursuing diplomacy in settling regional and international disputes.
