Baniyas Triumphs in Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship Round 4

Abu dhabi: Round 4 of the third edition of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship (Gi) concluded today at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, featuring competitions in the Kids and Under-12 divisions. Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club secured the top position in the overall standings, followed by Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in second place and Palms Sports - Team 777 in third.

According to Emirates News Agency, the final day witnessed significant family and fan attendance, creating a competitive atmosphere that highlighted the championship's growing prominence in the UAE jiu-jitsu calendar. The event aims to expand participation and identify talent across various age groups.

The closing day displayed strong performances from young athletes, showcasing their technical skills, discipline, and ability to compete under pressure. These performances are a testament to the talent development programs implemented by clubs and academies at the grassroots level.

Several dignitaries attended the competitions, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Nahyan and Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation. Other notable attendees included Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, and Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation.

Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri remarked on the championship's comprehensive model of how sport can contribute to personal and community development. He emphasized the championship's role in long-term investment in future generations through an advanced competitive system, supported by the UAE's leadership.

Humaid Mohammed Al Ketbi, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, highlighted the importance of dedicating a day for the Kids and Under-12 divisions. This focus on grassroots development serves as the foundation for future champions and supports the long-term growth of jiu-jitsu.

Saed Hijazi Salameh, General Manager, Sales at Jaguar Land Rover, Premier Motors, expressed pride in being the exclusive automotive partner of the championship. He noted that Defender shares values with jiu-jitsu, such as determination and resilience, and looks forward to continued support for the event.

The final day was marked by strong family attendance, with families actively supporting their children throughout the competitions and medal ceremonies. This atmosphere aligns with the objectives of the UAE's Year of the Family, reinforcing athletes' confidence and commitment.

Uira Dal Jovem, coach of Al Wahda Club Jiu-Jitsu Academy, emphasized the importance of family presence in enhancing the sporting experience and building athletes' confidence. Nada Al Qudsi, mother of athlete Mariam Saif Al Dhahouri, noted the role of jiu-jitsu championships in children's learning and development, highlighting their contribution to building self-confidence and discipline.
