Salt: The Faculty of Medicine at Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU) has achieved medical accreditation from the Jordanian Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI).

The AQACHEI, responsible for accrediting medical colleges in Jordan and the wider region, is recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).

President of BAU, Ahmed Ajlouni, expressed his satisfaction in a statement on Sunday, highlighting the university’s commitment to meeting the stringent standards of this accreditation.

He emphasized that the achievement was made possible through the provision of all necessary prerequisites, including internationally reputable faculty members, scholarship opportunities for students, advanced scientific laboratories, and study plans aligned with those of the most prestigious international medical colleges.

Ajlouni extended gratitude to the AQACHEI staff for their dedicated efforts in ensuring that the Faculty of Medicine met all the required s
tandards for accreditation and successfully passed the evaluation process.

The accreditation places the college among the ranks of international medical institutions, offering graduates extensive opportunities for acceptance into medical residency programs across various fields of medicine in prestigious global institutions, said Ajlouni. This recognition enhances their prospects for further studies, higher medical specializations, job opportunities, and eligibility to undertake the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE ), he added.

Ajlouni outlined the university’s comprehensive plans and strategies, incorporating measurable goals and indicators for all its colleges. In pursuit of international accreditation requirements, BAU has implemented a scholarship program, sending students to renowned international universities with high global rankings. Currently, the university boasts numerous scholarship students in such institutions, stated Ajlouni.

The university is proactively updating its study plans to align with technological advancements, incorporating artificial intelligence into its courses.
