House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday welcomed UNIFIL Commander, General Aroldo Lázaro Sáenz, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh.

Discussions revolved around the current state of affairs, predominantly focusing on security matters and on-ground situations, particularly in light of Israel’s persistent aggressions against Lebanese territories, specifically the southern border villages adjacent to occupied Palestine.

Berri also held a meeting with Caretaker Defense Minister, Elias Bou Saab, with whom he discussed political, security, and field developments in the country. Additionally, Berri had an audience with journalist Mounir El-Hafi, who presented his new cultural release, “Al-Mudmin” (The Addict).

In a separate development, Berri conveyed messages to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the President of the Iranian Shura Council, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, denouncing the terrorist attack in Kerman and extending condolences for the victims.
