U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday signed legislation to end the national emergency for Covid-19 enacted in March 2020, according to Washington Post.

A White House official said that ending the emergency will not impact the planned wind-down of the Public Health Emergency, which provided many Americans with Covid-19 tests, treatments, and vaccines at no charge.

It is an endeavor, he continued, to break the worldwide pandemic’s hold on the world’s largest economy.
