Dubai: Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, today launched the 2025 edition of the Hatta Festival.
According to Emirates News Agency, Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, stated that this year's festival programme was designed with inclusivity and diversity in mind, aiming to provide a memorable family experience for visitors of all ages. The festival builds on the success of last year's edition, which attracted over 650,000 visitors over a month. Al Suwaidi emphasized that the festival aims to contribute to the objectives of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan by promoting Hatta's unique tourism, cultural, and natural assets.
Amina Taher, a member of the event's Organising Committee, highlighted the festival's role in supporting local entrepreneurs under the Proudly from Dubai initiative. Thirty ventures, half of them run by Hatta residents, are participating to present their products and engage with visitors. The festival's focus on supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) aims to nurture opportunities for homegrown talent and contribute to sustainable economic growth in the region.
The festival also features the Young Entrepreneurs Competition, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development (Dubai SME), showcasing four young entrepreneurs from Hatta. Additionally, more than 150 workshops and over 100 performances and TV shows are scheduled, offering a vibrant and engaging celebration for families.
Community activities at the festival include Cooking and Camping, Star Photography workshops, and Traditional Life in Hatta Farms activities. The event introduces a mini zoo with interactive experiences for children, and a large games area with giant versions of classic board games.
The festival's Winter Games Zone offers adventure-based activities and a Hatta-themed Escape Room for immersive experiences. Outdoor workshops overlooking Leem Lake provide hands-on arts and crafts sessions led by local creators.
The festival is sponsored by Camelicious and features the Majlis, offering a traditional Emirati meeting space with mountain views. The Brand Dubai Store returns with festival-themed souvenirs, showcasing creative products from over 10 artists.
Extensive television coverage will be provided by Dubai Media, with the Main Stage hosting over 100 shows and performances. At night, bridges across Leem Lake transform into glowing art installations, enhancing the festival grounds' beauty.
