Bronze medal for Syria at Olympic Games by weightlifter Ma’an Asaad

Tokyo- Syrian weightlifter Ma’an Asaad gained the bronze medal in the weightlifting competition for over 109 kg at the Olympic Games held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.

Asaad obtained the bronze after scoring a total of 424 kg. The silver medal went to the Iranian player Ali Dawi with a total of 441 kg, and the Georgian Lasha Talakhadze won the gold with a total of 488 kg.

The Syrian plyer participated in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016 in the weight competitions of over 105 kg, and came in the 15th place, recording 400 kg in the total.
