Cabinet approves requests to implement green ammonia production project

The Cabinet under Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli approved Thursday 10/2/2022 several requests to swiftly implement the project to produce green ammonia as feedstock for green ammonia production to coincide with Egypt’s hosting of the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference in November.

The requests were put forward by the entities implementing the project, including the Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE), Norwegian renewable energy producer Scatec, and Orascom Construction.

The approval came as part of the State’s keenness to provide all possible facilities to the private sector in order to implement key infrastructure ventures.

The State also stresses the importance of the private sector’s participation in carrying out the various projects, with a view to promoting the country’s transition toward a clean energy.
