Cabinet issues new decisions

Amman: In its session held Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, the Cabinet approved the Nursery Bylaw for the year 2024.

The system aims to encourage establishment of nurseries to serve and provide a safe environment for children and empower working women by creating a secure place that stimulates their siblings’ capabilities.

The regulation sets procedures for licensing all types of nurseries, as well as monitoring and inspection measures and penalties that may be imposed on violators.

Additionally, Council of Ministers decided to approve the mandating reasons for the draft Royal Benefaction Bylaw for Teachers’ Children of Ministry of Education for 2024 to complete procedures for issuing the regulation officially.

The system comes in implementation of provisions of the General Policy for Student Admission into university colleges and intermediate university colleges for the academic year 2022/2023 and the relevant decisions of Council of Higher Education, which are in line with Economi
c Modernization Vision and the steps necessary to enhance Jordan’s vocational and technical education.

The Council also decided to approve the mandating reasons for the draft Work Bylaw of the National Committee of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing for 2024, which aligns with Jordanian Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing Law No. (20) of 2021 (“AML/CFT Law”).

The system stems from importance to frame the committee’s pivotal role by following up on implementation of the law provisions, in accordance with international standards, and developing the executive plans and procedures necessary for this purpose, in coordination with various relevant national authorities and institutions.

In another decision, Council of Ministers approved the validating reasons for the draft Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF) Bylaw for 2024, aimed to develop and modernize the system, in accordance with Insurance Regulatory Law No. (12) of 2021.

Moreover, the Cabinet decided to greenlight the rat
ionale for a draft regulation amending Jordan Deposit Insurance Bylaw for 2024, aimed to address some provisions related to deposit amounts in the event of taking decision to liquidate an insurance company.
