The Cabinet approved during a meeting under Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Thursday 18/8/2022 a request to establish the “Damietta Alliance Container Terminal S.A.E.” in Damietta Port, on an area of 922,320 square meters.

The new company would be responsible for using, managing and operating the second container terminal (Tahya Misr 1), in addition to conducting all related-maintenance works.

The Cabinet also okayed a proposal submitted by the Transport Ministry to allow the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) to sell 16 plots of land to increase its revenues, as part of presidential directives to benefit from the ENR’s untapped lands.
