Cabinet submits report on progress in gov’t action program to parliament

The Cabinet on Monday 14/2/2022 submitted a detailed report to the House of Representatives and the Senate about the progress in the action program of the government during the period between July 2018 and June 2021.

The report, entitled “Egypt Proceeds” monitors goals achieved by the government and achievements it has made.

The report was granted confidence by the parliament in July, 2018.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said in the report that the government has spared no effort to curb the spread of Covid-19 and contain the virus repercussions locally and globally.

Madbouli pointed out to the economic reform program, adopted since late 2016 which has helped greatly in Egypt’s handling of the coronavirus repercussions with the least possible losses.

The government was very much keen on paying greater attention to the health sector to face Covid-19 pandemic and providing different vaccines to ride out the crisis with special focus on the need of deepening local manufacture, added Madbouli.

He commended cooperation and coordination between the government and the parliament in the shadow of unprecedented conditions and challenges.

The report includes five strategic goals and calls for safeguarding national security and upholding Egypt’s foreign policy, in addition to building the Egyptian human being, promoting economic development and raising the efficiency of government performance, the premier further said.

He added the report includes as well ways of promoting employment rates and rising living standards of citizens, along with advancing efforts exerted by the government to face Covid-19 pandemic.
