RAMALLAH: Prime Minister of the caretaker government, Mohammed Shtayyeh welcomed today Canada’s announcement to stop arms exports to Israel.

He also appreciated Canada’s indication of the possibility of recognizing the State of Palestine.

Shtayyeh said that the war of genocide that Israel is waging against the people requires a firm international stance to stop arming Israel and impose immediate sanctions on it to prevent it from continuing its crimes.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to pressure Israel to open the crossings into the Gaza Strip, bring in sufficient humanitarian aid and restore electricity and water there.
