SHENZHEN: Shenzhen has inaugurated China’s pioneering urban air mobility (UAM) demonstration complex – a substantial leap for aerial sightseeing services, China Daily reported.

The 4,600 square-meter UAM base built by Bao’an district includes a dedicated takeoff/landing pad for EHang’s EH216-S passenger drones, alongside hangars, control rooms and amenities.

At last week’s launch, an EH216-S successfully hovered above the landmark OH Bay recreation site. Bao’an Transport will now partner with EHang to establish operational models for passenger-carrying vehicles and construct a low-altitude economy ecosystem.
