BEIJING: China recorded 424 million inbound and outbound trips in 2023, a 266.5 percent year-on-year increase, according to data released by the National Immigration Administration (NIA) at a press conference on Thursday.

This figure includes 206 million trips by mainland residents, 183 million by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents, and 35.478 million by foreigners – representing respective year-on-year growth of 218.7 percent, 292.8 percent, and 693.1 percent.

Additionally, 23.461 million inbound and outbound transportation vehicles passed inspections in 2023, 143.4 percent higher than the previous year.
