Jordanian civil society organizations said Monday that the Israeli army committed war crimes in the Gaza Strip over the past days as it bombed civilians, destroyed buildings and deprived people of water, food and medicine.In a joint statement, the organizations called on world governments, especially influential countries, to put pressure on the Israeli government to stop the aggression against Gaza and its people and the displacement of Gazans outside the enclave, allow the entry of emergency medical and humanitarian aid and respect the right of peoples in the world to express their position towards what is going on in the Palestinian lands.The 35 organizations that signed the statement denounced the occupying state’s targeting of the civilian population by missiles, deliberately killing and causing widespread destruction of property, bombing buildings and hospitals where the sick and wounded gathered, targeting relief and healthcare workers and issuing orders to displace civilians.It also denounced the
Israeli army’s use of internationally banned weapons, cutting off water and electricity, and preventing relief supplies, which amount to a war crimes under the International Criminal Court’s system.
