Cold weather forecast in highlands, fair in other regions

Relatively cold weather is expected to prevail on Wednesday in the highlands, while it will be moderate in other parts of the Kingdom, with clouds at various altitudes, and a chance for light showers in the northern region, forecasters said.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), the eastern areas of the country will be affected by unstable weather conditions, bringing spotty showers with thunder and hail at times. Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia.

The weather department warned of the danger of low visibility due to fog formation in the late night hours over the mountainous areas, and in eastern Badia due to dust-raising winds.

Relatively cold conditions will persist on Thursday in the mountainous areas and the plains, while it will be fair in other regions, with northwesterly moderate to active winds.

Toward Friday, a slight rise in mercury levels is expected, triggering sunny and pleasant weather in the highlands and the plains, and relatively warm conditions in the rest of the country.

Today, temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 17 degrees Celsius and a low of 6C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 24C, sliding to 14C at night.
