Colonial Israeli settlers assault hamlet south of Hebron

HEBRON: Dozens of colonial Israeli settlers, heavily armed and escorted by army, this evening attacked the Palestinian hamlet of Al-Jawaya in the Masafer Yatta region, located south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

WAFA correspondent, quoting the sources, said that armed settlers, backed by Israeli occupation forces, stormed the hamlet, assaulting local residents and verbally abusing them and vandalizing the contents of their homes.

The sources added that the settlers stormed several homes and residential tents in the hamlet, causing damage to the properties. Among those affected were identified as Mamdouh Abu Tabikh and Ahmed Nawaj’ah.

The settlers issued threats to the locals, warning them of further violence if they did not leave the area.

Terror attacks by Israeli settler militias are a common feature of the daily life under colonial settler occupation, but have seen exponential growth in recent months with the rise of ultranationalist fascism in Israel’s government coa
lition.
